What causes ripples in my carpet? Why does my carpet need to be restretched?

Many times carpet is installed with the wrong tool. Often a knee-kicker is exclusively used to install carpet, but that tool was designed to be an assist tool for the correct installation tool, the power stretcher. A carpet that is installed with only a knee-kicker sometimes results in ripples in the carpet over a period of time.
When Santa Fe Floor Care stretches carpet, we use a power stretcher as the primary stretching tool, and a knee-kicker as an assist tool.
